The Emotional Ammo Blog



Emotional ammo cards can stop you in your eating tracks but first you must go through each
emotion and write an activity that will really help
you resolve each feeling.
When you have the urge to eat. Stop! Grab your
emotional deck and identify which card describes what you are feeling and commit to do the activity on the back before you eat one bite. Enjoy the ideas of other Totell clients which may inspire you to find your perfect emotional solution without the numbing affect of food.



Emotion: Lonely




STOP! What I really need is: If I reach out to someone I always feel better. The easiest way is to write a Thank you note or little card to someone I care about. It lifts me right out of my poor lonely me state of mind.



Emotion: Overwhelmed




STOP! What I really need is: When I feel overwhelmed it is usually because I don’t have my ducks in a row. I will stop, take a breath and make a plan. I will list everything I need to do and decide play the now and later game. What needs to be done NOW
and what needs to be done LATER. I’ll work on t
hose things that need to
be done now knowing I have a complete list.




Emotion: Bored




STOP! What I really need is: To engage in something productive. If I just do something that is easy to see progress I usually can get focused on being productive and not eating. Small tasks around the house work great for me like folding some wash or unloading the dishwasher, they really help me to focus my mind again.


Emotion: Angry




STOP! What I really need is: If I clean something it helps me get out all of my pent up energy instead of eating the entire bag of oreos.






Emotion: Nervous




STOP! What I really need is: To figure out my higher purpose in the situation. I repeat my mantra “I am on my path.”




Emotion: Bored




STOP! What I really need is: To read a magazine or novel and just become absorbed in the story.






Emotion: Left Out




STOP! What I really need is: No pity party!! Brainstorm for a family or friend outing
and set a date to have the activity.







Emotion: Overwhelmed




STOP! What I really need is:






Emotion: Depressed




STOP! What I really need is: To Serve, Serve, Serve! Helping others helps me.



Emotion: Overwhelmed




STOP! What I really need is: To do two things (easiest) on my
“To Do” List. Automate my schedule to keep me on task.







Emotion: Incapable




STOP! What I really need is: Take 15 minutes at a time. I’ll do one thing I really think
I can’t for 15 minutes.







Emotion: Guilty




STOP! What I really need is: To make an apology even if It is to myself. Write
down the incident on paper and burn it!







Emotion: Worthless




STOP! What I really need is: List 3 valuable things I’ve accomplished recently large
or small.
